more wheel of time--myrrdraal
these guys are prevalent in the story--kind of the
'black riders' of the series...essentially, men-shaped
beings that have no eyes, pasty white skin, able to ride
shadows--that sort of thing...this guy is kind of the uber-myrrdraal,
called shaidar haran

Sweet BG man. I hate to aggree with Jeremy, but i think simplifying the anatomy of his neck would be good. Nice piece!

I agree with the others here, the neck being slimmer would, in my opinion, add a dramatic flair to the image. Possibly making it more creepy.

I always imagined one to have black empty eye sockets but maybe I miss read. Love you work. Love them all. Your art really brings them to life.

I never realize that this is what these characters should look like until I see your vision of them. It just fits. You are my hero.

Loos perfect. I'm going to keep saying that you need to do the coverart for WoT. :D

First off, amazing work. And secondly I dont agree with the others. I mean this is Shaidar Haran, the hand of the dark, not just any normal myrrdraal. The neck is perfect for his character. Once again great work.

this is by far the best myrrdraal i've ever seen. everyone other one i've seen has made them look like a punch of pansies. i can't wait to see some different versions of them...

This is just how I pictured them looking, minus the neck which makes it look even creepier!! Way to go! If only you could do the artwork for the covers instead of the ridiculous ones they have now...

Awesome. The neck is a bit much, I guess, but its not too bad. I did notice one thing though. If you don't know exactly what you're looking at, you just might see a big creepy monster with a huge alien vagina. Just sayin.

I'm not sure I agree with the anti-neck sentiments in the comments so far. The neck just makes it so otherworldly. It is hard to accept because it fits into no image of horror that we know or understand. Which is exactly what makes this artwork effective. Also, a thin neck will make the myrrdraal look like a weak old man, whereas at the moment we cannot be sure what powers or horrors those loose folds of skin may hide or indicate. Excellent work!

Love it. Love the neck the way it is. But, Myrdraal do have hair.

Great work, love your imagining of it... but I always pictured the Halfmen as being more humanoid-ish. That looks to me more like a Draghkar... But that's just my opinion.
